Schedule: Weekend coverage, 24-hour shifts from 7:00 AM Saturday through 7:00 AM Monday. On-campus call position with approximately 24-hour shifts per month.
Highlights:
- Collaborate with 2-3 pediatric/ED residents during rounds, with overnight call support from 1 resident
- Comprehensive ICU services including medical, surgical, neuro, Level II & III NICU, and pediatric unit
- Full spectrum of surgical services and specialist support including cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, and more
- 24-hour radiology, laboratory (2-hour turnaround), and OR support with clinical pathology
- Epic EMR system with testing option for experienced users
- Average census of 11 pediatric patients
Requirements:
- Active South Carolina medical license required (must be held prior to credentialing)
- Board Certification in Critical Care required
- PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
- DEA license required
- Minimum 1 year of experience; must be out of training for at least 2 years
- Clean background and malpractice history required
- Flu vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions available)
- Proficiency in procedures including vent management, chest tube insertion, central and arterial lines, transfusions, ICP evaluation, hemodialysis, and diagnostic taps
- Point-of-care ultrasound experience
